LightMaster Radar Simulator Mk2

Radar mk2 outer 96 copy.jpgDoes your confidence fade with poor visibility?

Would you like to gain much more experience with radar, in complete safety?

Is £59.95 too much to pay for peace of mind and increased enjoyment at sea?

Radar is a brilliant aid to navigation, but without proper training, it can mislead the navigator and lead to disaster. Most sea schools, and all commercial marine colleges, rely on a Radar Simulator to give this vital experience in a controlled environment.

LightMaster are the leading producers of radar simulation software for the small-craft market. LightMaster simulators are recommended by the Royal Yachting Association and are central to the teaching of their radar instructors. LightMaster Radar Simulators are used by coastguards, police and fire services to train crews for their vital work.

You can own the same software as used in sea schools and colleges, to run on your home PC. All you need is a PC running Windows 2000 or XP to gain experience in radar navigation and collision avoidance, equivalent to many years at sea. (Win 98 version available on request)

This is not just an instructional video. This is truly interactive software, with which you operate all the controls of the radar set and your vessel, and find what works best in each situation. Gain real hands-on experience, steering a variety of vessels in an unlimited range of scenarios. Repeat any exercise until you are confident you are making the best navigational decisions. Vary the weather conditions; add new ships and other targets.

The software displays a choice of radar sets for you to use, complete with all set-up and operational controls – just like a real radar system. Rudder and throttle, or an autopilot, put you in full control of your selected vessel. You can plot your positions and plan routes on a real chart, or simply refer to the built-in exercise manager for a real-time view of your situation.

Schools licensing more than one PC can choose to operate each computer independently, or to link them on a network and let the instructor at one PC monitor and control the activities of the students on each of the other PCs.

Ease of use, unrivalled practice and low cost make the LightMaster Radar Simulator an invaluable aid to gaining vital experience. See the demonstration video clip.
